MenB stands for Meningococcal serogroup B vaccine, a pediatric & neonatal abbreviation.
Vaccine protecting against serogroup B meningococcal disease, a cause of outbreaks on college campuses. It is recommended for people at increased risk and may be given to 16–23-year-olds through shared clinical decision-making, preferably at 16–18.
Example: MenB 2-dose series started at 17 before leaving for university.
Usage notes
Serogroup B vaccines were licensed in the US in 2014 and 2015, partly prompted by campus outbreaks, including one at Princeton University in 2013. Protection appears to wane within a few years, so timing matters. MenB is not interchangeable between brands.
