Privacy policy

This policy explains what information is processed when you visit AbbreviationList (abbreviationlist.com), which is edited by the AbbreviationList.com team. The site has no user accounts and no forms that collect personal data.

Hosting

The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. To serve pages and protect the site against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.

Analytics and cookies

The site uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, services provided by Google, to understand how visitors use it — for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and their approximate region, device and browser. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visits. The data is used only in aggregate to improve the dictionary; it is not used to identify you. Google processes this data under its privacy policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The dictionary works fully without cookies.

Search

The search box runs entirely in your browser: the list of abbreviations is downloaded once and searched locally, so what you type is not sent to AbbreviationList.

Email

If you write to contact@abbreviationlist.com, your address and message are used only to reply and to act on your request (for example, a correction), and are not shared or sold.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, or to object to its processing. Because the site does not keep personal profiles, most requests concern analytics data held by Google, which you can control with the tools above. Changes

This policy is updated when the services used by the site change.
