NDRI stands for Norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor, a drug class abbreviation.
Class whose main member is bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban), an antidepressant that also helps with smoking cessation and, combined with naltrexone (Contrave), weight loss. It does not act on serotonin.
Example: Add NDRI (bupropion XL 150 mg qAM) for SSRI-induced sexual dysfunction.
Usage notes
Bupropion is one of the few antidepressants that rarely causes sexual side effects or weight gain. It lowers the seizure threshold, so it is contraindicated in people with seizure disorders, bulimia or anorexia and during abrupt alcohol or benzodiazepine withdrawal. Different release forms (IR, SR, XL) have different maximum doses.
