CZK stands for Czech koruna, a currency abbreviation.
The Czech Republic's currency, introduced in 1993 when Czechoslovakia split and issued by the Czech National Bank. Its subunit, the haler, no longer circulates as coins.
Example: A half-liter of beer in a Prague pub costs around CZK 60.
Usage notes
Prices are written Kč. From 2013 to 2017 the Czech National Bank capped the koruna's strength at 27 per euro to fight deflation. The country committed to adopting the euro when it joined the EU in 2004 but has set no date.
