4Ps stands for Product, price, place, promotion, a marketing & advertising abbreviation.
Classic framework for the marketing mix, the controllable decisions a company makes to bring an offering to market: what it sells, how it prices it, where and how it is distributed, and how it is communicated.
Example: Before launch, walk through the 4Ps for each country, since pricing and distribution differ.
Usage notes
E. Jerome McCarthy proposed the four Ps in his 1960 textbook "Basic Marketing," building on Neil Borden's idea of the "marketing mix." For services, Bernard Booms and Mary Jo Bitner added people, process and physical evidence in 1981 to make the 7Ps. Also written 4 Ps or four Ps.
