B2C stands for Business-to-consumer, a marketing & advertising abbreviation.
Selling products and services directly to individual consumers rather than to other businesses, through stores, websites, apps or marketplaces. B2C purchases are typically smaller, faster and driven more by emotion, brand and convenience than B2B purchases.
Example: As a B2C brand, our biggest sales week is Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
Usage notes
Retailers, restaurants, consumer banks and streaming services are classic B2C businesses. B2C marketing relies on mass reach, social media, influencers, promotions and loyalty programs. Some companies operate in both modes, such as office suppliers selling to households and corporations. Pronounced "B-to-C," it is often written B-to-C in the press.
