HPS stands for Healing per second, a gaming slang abbreviation.

Measure of how much healing a character delivers over time, the healer's equivalent of DPS. Used in MMORPG raid analysis and healer discussions.

Example: Her HPS was double mine on the last boss, I need to fix my rotation.

Usage notes

Raid logs and combat meters track HPS alongside DPS. High HPS can be misleading if much of the healing is "overhealing" on players already at full health. Mainly used by World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV players.
