EBD stands for Electronic brakeforce distribution, an automotive abbreviation.

Extension of anti-lock brakes that automatically varies braking force between front and rear wheels, and sometimes side to side, according to load and road conditions. EBD keeps the rear wheels from locking when the car is lightly loaded.

Example: With EBD, the pickup brakes evenly whether the bed is empty or loaded with gravel.

Usage notes

EBD replaced mechanical proportioning valves that performed a similar job less precisely. It is usually listed alongside ABS and brake assist on spec sheets. Weight shifts forward under braking, so front brakes do most of the work, and EBD adjusts to how much the rear can safely handle.
