COPM stands for Canadian Occupational Performance Measure, a rehabilitation abbreviation.

Interview-based measure in which patients identify the daily activities most important to them and rate their performance and satisfaction on 1 to 10 scales. It is a core occupational therapy outcome tool.

Example: COPM priorities: cooking, gardening, bathing; performance 3.7, satisfaction 2.3.

Usage notes

Developed by Mary Law and colleagues and first published in 1990. A change of 2 points or more is usually considered clinically important. Because patients choose the goals, it supports client-centered practice.
