1. Combined oral contraceptive

Birth control pill containing both an estrogen, usually ethinyl estradiol, and a progestin. COCs are highly effective with consistent use and can be taken cyclically or continuously to skip periods.
Example: COC contraindicated: age 38, smokes 1 pack/day; offer LNG-IUD or progestin-only methods.
CDC Medical Eligibility Criteria list conditions in which estrogen is unsafe, including smoking at age 35 or older, migraine with aura, history of blood clots and uncontrolled hypertension. Combined hormonal methods also include the patch and vaginal ring (CHC). The small rise in clot risk is lower than the risk during pregnancy.
2. Cash-on-cash return (CoC)

Annual pre-tax cash flow from an investment property divided by the cash the investor actually put in, such as the down payment, closing costs and repairs, showing the yield on invested cash.
Example: We earn $9,000 a year on $100,000 invested, a 9% CoC.
Because it reflects financing, CoC rises with leverage, unlike the cap rate. It ignores appreciation and principal paydown.
