CET stands for Central European Time, a time zone abbreviation.

Winter time of most of continental Europe, UTC+1, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, plus Algeria and Tunisia all year.

Example: The webinar starts at 15:00 CET, which is 9:00 a.m. EST in New York.

Usage notes

Spain adopted CET in 1940, aligning with Germany, although much of the country lies geographically in the UTC+0 band, one reason Spanish meal times run late by the clock. From the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October the zone uses CEST. The European Parliament voted in 2019 to end seasonal clock changes, but member states have not agreed on how.
