1. Activity as tolerated

Activity order letting the patient move, sit and walk as much as comfort and stamina allow, without a fixed limit. It is the default for many medical and postoperative patients who have no specific restrictions.
Example: Diet: regular. Activity: AAT, encourage ambulation in hallway QID.
Sometimes written "act as tol" or "up ad lib". A fall-risk assessment still applies, so a patient with AAT may need assistance or a gait belt. Weight-bearing limits after orthopedic surgery are ordered separately, for example WBAT or NWB, and override general activity orders for the affected limb.
2. Associate of Arts in Teaching
Education & Academia · Degree Abbreviations
Transfer degree for future teachers that combines general education with introductory education courses and supervised classroom observation. Maryland and Texas community colleges are the best-known providers, and the credits are designed to move into a university teacher-preparation program.
Example: Her AAT transferred in full, so she began student teaching coursework in her first semester at the university.
Written A.A.T. on transcripts. The degree does not by itself lead to a teaching license, which requires a bachelor's degree and state certification exams. In British finance, AAT means something unrelated: the Association of Accounting Technicians and its bookkeeping qualifications.
