A.3d stands for Atlantic Reporter, Third Series, a legal citation abbreviation.

Regional reporter for ten northeastern and mid-Atlantic jurisdictions: Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The third series began in 2010, after the second reached volume 999.

Example: The Pennsylvania Supreme Court's opinion is cited to A.3d with a parallel cite to the official reports.

Usage notes

The Atlantic Reporter began in 1885 (A.), and its second series (A.2d) covered 1938 to 2010. Because one reporter covers many states, the parenthetical must name the court, as in "(Pa. 2015)" or "(N.J. Super. Ct. App. Div. 2012)". Decisions of the D.C. Court of Appeals, the District's highest local court, also appear here.
