QHD stands for Quad High Definition, a consumer electronics abbreviation.

Display resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, four times the pixels of 720p HD, often called 1440p. It is popular on gaming and productivity monitors and on flagship phones.

Example: A 27-inch QHD monitor at 165 Hz is a sweet spot for PC gaming.

Usage notes

Do not confuse it with lowercase qHD, "quarter HD", a 960-by-540 resolution used on some early-2010s smartphones. The name WQHD is often used for the same 2560-by-1440 resolution. QHD is sometimes inaccurately marketed as "2K", a term that originally described cinema formats about 2,048 pixels wide.
