The official public repository of third-party Python software, hosting hundreds of thousands of projects that pip installs by name. Anyone can publish packages to it.
Example: Publish the library to PyPI so users can install it with pip.
Usage notes
Launched in 2003 and once nicknamed "the Cheese Shop" after a Monty Python sketch. Pronounced "pie-P-I" to distinguish it from PyPy, a separate Python implementation pronounced "pie-pie". The Python Software Foundation runs it and has added two-factor authentication and trusted publishing to counter malicious uploads.
