NZD stands for New Zealand dollar, a currency abbreviation.
New Zealand's currency, issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and also used in the Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau and the Pitcairn Islands. Traders call it the "kiwi" after the bird on the one-dollar coin.
Example: The Queenstown bungee jump costs NZD 275.
Usage notes
New Zealand decimalized in 1967. Its central bank pioneered formal inflation targeting in 1990, a model later copied worldwide. Like the Australian dollar, the NZD is sensitive to commodity exports, especially dairy.
