NLTK stands for Natural Language Toolkit, an artificial intelligence abbreviation.
A Python library for teaching and research in natural language processing, offering tokenizers, stemmers, part-of-speech taggers, parsers and dozens of text corpora.
Example: Use NLTK's word_tokenize and the stopwords corpus to clean the reviews.
Usage notes
Created by Steven Bird and Edward Loper at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. Its companion book, "Natural Language Processing with Python", is freely available online. Production systems more often use faster libraries such as spaCy or transformer-based tools.
