LDRP stands for Labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum, a hospital abbreviation.
Single-room maternity care model in which a woman stays in the same room from labor through birth, recovery and her postpartum stay. The room converts from birthing suite to hospital room.
Example: LDRP suite 4: delivered vaginally 0310, baby rooming in, breastfeeding well.
Usage notes
An alternative is the LDR room, where the mother moves to a separate postpartum unit after recovery. Single-room care reduces transfers and supports bonding, but requires more large rooms. Cesarean births still take place in an operating room.
