ICDR stands for International Centre for Dispute Resolution, a litigation abbreviation.
International division of the American Arbitration Association, established in 1996, that administers cross-border arbitrations and mediations under the ICDR International Arbitration Rules. US companies often choose it for contracts with foreign partners.
Example: The supply contract between the Texas buyer and the Korean manufacturer calls for ICDR arbitration in New York.
Usage notes
Using institutional rules lets parties from different countries avoid either side's courts, and the resulting awards are enforceable in more than 170 countries under the 1958 New York Convention. The British spelling "Centre" is part of its official name.
