EUCO stands for European Council, a world government abbreviation.
Body of the heads of state or government of the EU member states, together with its President and the President of the European Commission, that sets the EU's overall political direction and priorities, usually at summits in Brussels.
Example: EUCO leaders agreed to open accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova.
Usage notes
It became a formal EU institution under the Lisbon Treaty in 2009, which created its full-time President. It should not be confused with the Council of the European Union, where national ministers pass laws, or with the Council of Europe, a separate human rights organization.
