CDG stands for Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, an airport code abbreviation.
France's busiest airport and the main hub of Air France, located in Roissy-en-France about 25 kilometers northeast of Paris. Its circular concrete Terminal 1, with passengers moving through glass-tube escalators, opened in 1974.
Example: RER B from Gare du Nord to CDG takes about 35 minutes if there are no strikes.
Usage notes
ICAO code LFPG. Also called Roissy after its location. Designed largely by architect Paul Andreu, it is one of Europe's two busiest hubs with Heathrow. Air France Concorde Flight 4590 crashed shortly after takeoff from CDG in July 2000. Its sprawling layout makes connections between terminals notoriously slow.
