Also called a quad or four-wheeler. Three-wheeled ATVs were withdrawn from the US market in 1988 under an agreement with the Consumer Product Safety Commission because of rollover deaths. Most states restrict ATV use on public roads. ATVs differ from side-by-side UTVs, which have bench seats and steering wheels.
