CategoriesBusiness & Finance

AON stands for All or none, a stock market & investing abbreviation.

Order condition requiring that the entire quantity be filled in one execution or not at all; unlike fill or kill, it can wait on the book until conditions allow. It avoids multiple partial fills.

Example: The block buyer entered an AON order for 50,000 shares at $12.75.

Usage notes

AON orders may receive lower priority because of their restriction, and some brokers no longer accept them for stocks. In underwriting, "all or none" also describes an offering that is canceled unless every share is sold.
