UX stands for User experience, a computer abbreviation.
How a person perceives and feels about using a product or service, covering ease of use, efficiency, accessibility and satisfaction. UX work involves interviews, research, prototyping and usability testing before and after the visual interface is built.
Example: Our UX research showed that most shoppers abandon checkout when forced to create an account.
Usage notes
Cognitive scientist Don Norman popularized the term after joining Apple in 1993 with the title User Experience Architect. The X stands in for "experience", a pattern copied by DX (developer experience) and CX (customer experience). Job ads often combine "UX/UI", although many UX researchers never draw a screen.
