UNWTO stands for World Tourism Organization, an international organization abbreviation.
Tourism body of the UN system, which compiles international tourism statistics and promotes sustainable tourism. Its Madrid secretariat rebranded it as UN Tourism in 2024.

Usage notes
It became a UN specialized agency in 2003 and adopted the UNWTO acronym to avoid confusion with the World Trade Organization. The 2024 rebranding as UN Tourism was intended to end that confusion entirely. It publishes the World Tourism Barometer.
