WEF stands for World Economic Forum, an international organization abbreviation.
Swiss nonprofit foundation best known for its annual meeting of political and business leaders in Davos each January, and for reports such as the Global Gender Gap Report and the Global Risks Report.

Usage notes
Founded in 1971 by German economist Klaus Schwab as the European Management Forum, it took its current name in 1987. Schwab stepped down as chairman in 2025. It has been criticized as an elite gathering, while supporters see it as a useful forum for public-private dialogue. "Davos" is often used as shorthand for the meeting.
