1. Tuesday and Thursday

Units & Measurements · Day of the Week Abbreviations · also used in education

Course schedule code for classes that meet on Tuesday and Thursday, usually in 75- or 80-minute blocks. Depending on the institution it is also written TR, T/Th or TuTh.

Example: ENG 102 TTh 11:00 to 12:15, Room 304.

TTh classes give longer sessions suited to discussions, labs and exams, while MWF classes meet more often. Some institutions write TR because their systems allow only one letter per weekday; others keep Th to avoid the unusual R. Either way, two 75-minute meetings equal three 50-minute MWF meetings.

2. Tension-type headache (TTH)

Medical · Neurology Abbreviations

Most common primary headache disorder, causing bilateral pressing or tightening pain of mild to moderate intensity that is not worsened by routine physical activity and usually lacks nausea. Episodes last from 30 minutes to several days.

Example: Band-like bilateral headache at the end of the workday, no nausea or aura: episodic TTH.

Classified by the International Classification of Headache Disorders (ICHD-3) as infrequent, frequent or chronic (15 or more days a month). Simple analgesics treat episodes, but frequent use risks medication overuse headache; amitriptyline is used for prevention in chronic TTH. Stress, poor sleep and neck muscle tension are common triggers.
