PrtSc stands for Print Screen key, a computer abbreviation.
Key that captures an image of the screen. In Windows 11 it opens the Snipping Tool by default, while in older setups it copies the whole screen to the clipboard for pasting into a document or image editor.
Example: Press PrtSc, then paste the screenshot into the email.
Usage notes
Labels vary: PrtScn, Print Scrn, PrtSc SysRq and others, since the key is often shared with System Request. In early DOS it sent the screen's text straight to the printer, hence the name. Alt+PrtSc captures only the active window, and Windows key+Shift+S starts a region capture. Macs have no such key; Command+Shift+3 or 4 takes screenshots.
