MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, a military term abbreviation.
Load-carrying system of vests, packs and pouches attached to rows of nylon webbing, letting service members configure their gear. It replaced the older ALICE system from the late 1990s.
Example: He moved the radio pouch to the left side of his MOLLE vest.
Usage notes
Pronounced "Molly." The webbing grid is called PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System), and the term MOLLE is widely used in civilian outdoor and tactical gear. Most military body armor carriers use MOLLE-compatible webbing.
