MEng stands for Master of Engineering, a degree abbreviation.
Professional engineering master's that in the US is usually a one-year, coursework-based degree without a research thesis, offered by schools such as Cornell, Berkeley and MIT. In the UK it is a four-year integrated undergraduate-plus-master's degree that fully meets the academic requirement for Chartered Engineer status.
Example: Cornell's MEng in systems engineering ends with a team design project for an industry client.
Usage notes
Written M.Eng. MIT restricts its MEng in electrical engineering and computer science to its own undergraduates. Because the US and UK degrees are so different, employers abroad may need context: a British MEng graduate has five years of combined study in Scotland and four in England.
