LULZ stands for Laughs (from LOLs), a social media abbreviation.
Amusement gained at someone else's expense, especially through trolling, pranks or hacking, as in "did it for the lulz." Associated with 4chan and early internet troll culture.
Example: They defaced the forum's homepage just for the lulz, then bragged about it.
Usage notes
A deliberate corruption of "lols," the plural of LOL. The hacker group LulzSec took its name from it during a series of high-profile attacks in 2011. The phrase implies indifference to the harm caused, so it is not the same as harmless laughter.
