Moots stands for Mutuals (mutual followers), a social media abbreviation.

Accounts that follow each other on X, Instagram, Tumblr or TikTok, as in "my moots." The term implies a friendly online relationship rather than a mere follower count.

Example: Shoutout to my moots, you made this year online bearable.

Usage notes

A clipped form of "mutuals" that spread through fandom and stan Twitter in the late 2010s. Related to OOMF (one of my followers). Mostly used by Gen Z and fan communities, where "moots only" can mark a post as intended for trusted followers.
