LCP stands for Largest Contentful Paint, an Internet & web abbreviation.
A Core Web Vitals metric measuring how long it takes for the largest image or text block in the viewport to render after a page starts loading. Google rates 2.5 seconds or less as good.
Example: The hero image is pushing LCP to 4.1 seconds on mobile; preload it and compress it.
Usage notes
Introduced by Google in 2020 as one of the three Core Web Vitals and part of search ranking signals since 2021. It is judged at the 75th percentile of real page loads. Common fixes include compressing images, preloading the key image and reducing server response time.
