JST stands for Japan Standard Time, a time zone abbreviation.
Japan's single time zone, UTC+9, used year-round from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Tokyo is 14 hours ahead of New York in winter and 13 in summer.
Example: The game launches at midnight JST, which is 10 a.m. EST the previous day.
Usage notes
The zone is based on the 135° E meridian, which passes through the city of Akashi, home of a planetarium built directly on the line. Japan used daylight saving only from 1948 to 1951 under the US occupation. Video game and anime release announcements are often given in JST.
