Jordan's currency, issued by the Central Bank of Jordan and pegged to the US dollar at 0.709 dinar since 1995. It is divided into 10 dirhams, 100 qirsh (piastres) or 1,000 fils.

Usage notes
Introduced in 1950, the dinar replaced the Palestine pound and still circulates in the West Bank alongside the Israeli shekel. Jordan's dollar peg is one of the longest-standing in the region. Prices are often written JD.
