IDGI

Texting & Internet Slang abbreviation · Texting and Chat

IDGI stands for I don't get it, a texting and chat abbreviation.

Admits confusion, often about a joke, meme or set of instructions. It is a common reply under trending memes whose reference the reader has missed.

Example: Idgi, why is everyone posting pictures of frogs today?

Usage notes

Frequently posted under memes and inside jokes, sometimes prompting others to explain the reference. Close in tone to a simple "huh?" Harmless, though a reply of "idgi" to a friend's joke can deflate it.
