1. Glucose challenge test
Medical · Obstetrics & Gynecology Abbreviations
Screening test for gestational diabetes in which a pregnant patient drinks 50 g of glucose without fasting and has blood glucose measured one hour later, typically at 24–28 weeks. An elevated result leads to a diagnostic 3-hour glucose tolerance test.
Example: 1-hour GCT 152 mg/dL; schedule fasting 3-hour 100 g GTT.
Thresholds vary between 130, 135 and 140 mg/dL, trading sensitivity against false positives. This two-step approach is most common in the US, while many other countries use a single 75 g two-hour test. Patients with high early risk may be screened in the first trimester. Commonly called the "one-hour glucose test".
2. Good conduct time

Credit that federal prisoners earn toward early release for good behavior, up to 54 days for each year of the sentence imposed. It can be taken away for disciplinary violations.
Example: With full GCT, his 10-year sentence works out to about eight and a half years in custody.
Governed by 18 U.S.C. § 3624(b). The First Step Act of 2018 fixed the calculation so prisoners can earn the full 54 days per year of the sentence imposed. Most states have their own good-time or earned-time systems with different rates, and federal prisoners serving life sentences cannot earn it.
