Interior defensive lineman who lines up over or between the guards and center, clogging running lanes and pushing the pocket on passing downs. A disruptive DT such as Aaron Donald can dominate a game from the middle.
Example: The DT recorded 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble against Dallas.
A "3-technique" tackle lines up on the outside shoulder of a guard and is usually the more athletic pass rusher; a "1-technique" plays next to the center. Donald won Defensive Player of the Year three times (2017, 2018 and 2020). In medicine DT can mean delirium tremens, an unrelated term.

Overtime premium paid at twice the employee's regular rate, required by some state laws and common in union contracts for holidays, Sundays or very long shifts.

Federal law requires only time and a half; California mandates double time for hours over 12 in a day and for hours over 8 on the seventh consecutive workday. Many collective bargaining agreements add double time for work on holidays or rest days.
