Usage notes

The 1956 merger of the Trades and Labor Congress of Canada and the Canadian Congress of Labour created it. In 1961 it joined with the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation to found the New Democratic Party. It is the Canadian counterpart of the AFL-CIO.
