ZB stands for Zettabyte, a data unit abbreviation.

10^21 bytes, a billion terabytes, the unit for estimates of all data created, captured and copied worldwide, which analysts now put in the low hundreds of zettabytes per year.

Example: Analysts forecast global data creation will exceed 200 ZB a year before the end of the decade.

Usage notes

Cisco announced the start of the "zettabyte era" in 2016, when annual global IP traffic passed 1 ZB. Most data created each year is never stored long term. The binary counterpart is the zebibyte (ZiB, 2^70 bytes).
