wRC+ stands for Weighted runs created plus, a baseball abbreviation.

FanGraphs' main hitting metric, estimating runs created from wOBA and adjusting for park and league, with 100 as average. A 140 wRC+ means a hitter created 40 percent more runs than average.

Example: The slugger's 180 wRC+ ranked second in all of baseball.

Usage notes

Builds on Bill James's runs created concept. Because it is park- and league-adjusted, it allows fair comparisons across eras and stadiums. Baseball-Reference's similar stat is OPS+, which uses a simpler formula.
