Usage notes

Between 2019 and 2023 about a quarter of US congregations left the denomination in disputes over sexuality, many joining the Global Methodist Church, formed in 2022. In 2024 its General Conference removed restrictions on LGBTQ clergy and same-sex weddings. Its symbol is the cross and flame.
