OCdt stands for Officer Cadet, a british military rank abbreviation.
Title of trainees on the Regular Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, which lasts 44 weeks, and of officer trainees at the RAF and naval colleges. On completion, army officer cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants.
Example: OCdt Lewis received the Sword of Honour at the Sovereign's Parade.
Usage notes
Officer cadets sit at NATO grade OF(D), below the commissioned ranks. The Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst marks commissioning, after which new officers attend specialist training for their regiment or corps. University officer training corps members are also officer cadets.
