NG+ stands for New Game Plus, a gaming slang abbreviation also used in entertainment.

Mode unlocked after finishing a game that lets the player start again while keeping items, levels or abilities, often with harder enemies or new content.

Example: Starting NG+ tonight with all my gear, the bosses hit twice as hard now.

Usage notes

Chrono Trigger (1995) popularized the name, and the Dark Souls and Elden Ring games made multiple NG+ cycles famous for escalating difficulty. Some games add secret endings only reachable in NG+. Pronounced "new game plus."
