LINQ stands for Language Integrated Query, a programming abbreviation.
A .NET feature that builds query capabilities directly into C# and Visual Basic, letting developers filter, sort and join collections, databases and XML with one consistent syntax.
Example: Replace the nested loops with a LINQ query using Where and GroupBy.
Usage notes
Introduced with C# 3.0 and .NET Framework 3.5 in 2007. It offers both a SQL-like query syntax and chained method calls. Entity Framework translates LINQ expressions into SQL for the database. Pronounced "link".
