Fed. Cl. stands for Federal Claims Reporter, a legal citation abbreviation.
Reporter of opinions from the United States Court of Federal Claims, covering government contract disputes, bid protests, takings, military pay and vaccine injury cases. The same abbreviation names the court itself in Bluebook court parentheticals.
Example: The protester cited a Fed. Cl. decision sustaining a challenge to the agency's price evaluation.
Usage notes
The reporter began in 1992, when the court took its current name. Earlier decisions appear in the Claims Court Reporter (Cl. Ct.), 1982 to 1992, and before that in the Court of Claims Reports (Ct. Cl.). Volume numbering continued from Cl. Ct., so Fed. Cl. does not start at volume 1.
