DNQ stands for Did not qualify, an other sports abbreviation.

Result code for an athlete, car or team that failed to make the main event or final through qualifying, such as a driver bumped from the Indianapolis 500 field or a golfer who misses qualifying.

Example: Three cars were left as DNQ after Bump Day at Indianapolis.

Usage notes

The Indianapolis 500 limits its field to 33 cars, so extra entries can fail to qualify. In athletics, standings may show DNQ for competitors who did not advance from heats. Distinct from DNS, which applies to qualified athletes who did not start.
