CategoriesBusiness & Finance

DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid, a logistics, supply chain & trade abbreviation.

Incoterms rule placing the maximum obligation on the seller, who delivers the goods to the named destination cleared for import with all duties and taxes paid, ready for unloading. The buyer only needs to unload.

Example: The marketplace requires DDP so customers never pay surprise import charges at the door.

Usage notes

DDP requires the seller to act as importer of record or arrange someone to do so, which may be impossible in some countries or create VAT registration obligations. It is popular in cross-border e-commerce for a smoother customer experience. Import VAT paid by a non-resident seller may be hard to recover.
