CCI stands for Consumer Confidence Index, an economics abbreviation.
Monthly survey-based measure of US consumers' views on current business and labor-market conditions and their expectations for the next six months, published by The Conference Board and benchmarked to 100 in 1985.
Example: The CCI dropped to its lowest level in four years as worries about jobs increased.
Usage notes
The University of Michigan's Index of Consumer Sentiment is a rival measure with a different methodology. Economists debate how well confidence surveys predict actual spending. In technical trading, CCI is the Commodity Channel Index, an unrelated indicator.
