C-TPAT stands for Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, a logistics, supply chain & trade abbreviation.
Voluntary US Customs and Border Protection program in which importers, carriers and other supply chain companies meet security criteria in exchange for benefits such as fewer inspections and priority processing.
Example: Being C-TPAT certified helped us get containers through faster after the port backlog.
Usage notes
Launched in November 2001 in response to the September 11 attacks and now styled CTPAT. Members must assess and secure their supply chains, including foreign suppliers.
